I want to create a game
that can never be forgotten.
Q. What's your team's role?
We are developing a remake of The War of Genesis. Our team consists of game designers, graphic artists (illustrator, modeler, animator, etc.,), that visualize our game designs, and programmers, who actually bring life into the game and other various roles related to game development. I believe The War of Genesis started the Korean game market boom at the time of its release and we are committed to bringing great fun and excitement to both gamers who have memories of those days and new gamers who have not played The War of Genesis before.
Q. What is your role in the team?
I'm in charge of client programming. My job is to utilize all data and info received from the game design team and graphic resources received from the graphics team to make it into a working game. I work with the idea of bringing the game to life while programming.
Q. What are some competencies and qualities required for the job?
It is most rewarding when development progresses and game components start to look like a game. I can't put into words the sense of reward I feel when I overcome a difficult programming issue by coming up with code that overcomes the issue and works perfectly as intended.
A client programmer is...
Q. What are some skills and qualities required for the job?
You need a "do not settle in reality, and continue to learn" kind of attitude. Client programmers need to be up to date with the latest technologies and trends, so we need to continuously learn and increase our knowledge and skill.
Q. What kind of personality is appropriate for the job?
It's good to have calm people with meticulous and logical personalities. In programming you won't be able to produce the desired result if there's a minor problem in coding. We need to be able to find the problem and think logically to resolve it.
Q. What do I need to prepare to apply for this role?
I think you need the knowledge to express what's shown on the monitor. It is essential to understand from the very basics, such as data structure, algorithm, OOP to 3D graphics and rendering pipeline. I still lack in some parts and am continuously studying to fill in the gaps.
Take a break and work
when you need to.
Q. Why choose LINE Games?
Being a hardcore gamer myself, I've always had a passion to create a game for true hardcore gamers. Personally, I prefer console games over mobile games and think that consoles truly bring the fun out of the game. So, I applied immediately after checking the job description for The War of Genesis console remake project. I was also attracted to the company because they were willing to work on different game genres on a variety of platforms.
Q. What do you do when you can't concentrate during work?
I usually go to the gym at lunch. It keeps me in shape and a shower after working out clears my mind. When I get tired in the afternoon, I visit the cafeteria to get a drink and play some darts.
and challenge for games!
Q. What type of colleagues would you like to work with?
I hope it's someone with a passion for creating and playing games! I think the more passion someone has for games, the more they are naturally motivated to discuss and have bigger dreams. It's like a foundation for creating great games.
Q. Any advice for applicants?
LINE Games' strength comes from its free atmosphere and a horizontal organizational structure, which helps projects move forward. I recommend LINE Games to anyone who can pour their passion into creating a great game!
