Q. What's your team's role?
Our team is in charge of live operations and various other tasks that involve providing stable service from launch to termination of our games. We establish both internal and external game service strategies/policies for the best user experience before launch. During service of a game, we manage the game community, plan overall service of the game (including events), and minimize risks by proposing resolutions for issues occurring during live service. In addition, we take care of customers and respond to their complaints with resolutions. We also monitor the game to rapidly respond to any unpredictable incidents. I guess you can say our team takes cares of the game 24 hours, 365 days, a year.
Q. What is your role in the team?
Since I'm a team leader, I'm in charge of creating an environment where our team members can focus on their work and to support them to make sure the team is operating without any issues. I propose resolutions for any issues that occur during the process and sometimes speak out on behalf of my team members.
Q. When do you find your work most rewarding?
There is no right answer in live operations, so our team's judgment is very important. We feel most rewarded when our decisions resolve the issue or satisfy the players.

Q. What are some skills and qualities required for the job?
You need an objective view of any given situation. Issues we encounter are intertwined and they affect a large group of people, so we need to make careful and informed decisions to solve them. Hasty judgments are forbidden. Someone who can define the issue accurately and think big is adequate for the role.
Q. What kind of personality is appropriate for the job?
We prefer someone who is a good listener and enjoys communicating with others. Our work involves a lot of discussion with different teams and listening to players' feedback, so we must have great communication skills. Since we need to think outside the box and make careful judgments, someone that is not scared of new experiences and is precise is appropriate for the role.
Q. Which skill set do you think helped you in joining LINE Games?
Various service experience is my strength. My experience ranges from launch and service termination for both PC and mobile games and I have experience with many game genres. I'm a very meticulous person, so I check all the risks that may occur and prepare our response to them. In addition, during the interview, I told the interviewers what I really think and why. I believe this earned me big points.

Q. Why choose LINE Games?
Some people disagreed with my decision to join LINE Games because it was still a start-up company back then. I decided to join LINE Games because I was moved by our CEO's vision and thought that I could grow together with the company. I lost a few chances before and didn't want to lose this one. Even when I think back now, I believe I made the right choice.
Q. What is the LINE Games organizational culture and atmosphere like?
There is a certain image of the typical game company. Other companies might be different, but at LINE Games, we have a horizontal organizational culture and a free atmosphere. Due to the working environment, we actively communicate with everyone and this gives a positive influence on our work. Of course, this free atmosphere is only guaranteed if everyone is responsible for their work.
Q. What do you do when you can't concentrate during work?
I switch up my work environment and move to a different area. I sometimes work in the in-house café with drinks and cookies for a change of environment or go to an empty conference room to concentrate on work alone. If that doesn't work, I take a quick stroll around the building to get some fresh air and it often helps me clear my head.
Don't just think about it,
put it into action!
Q. What type of colleagues would you like to work with?
There are no exact answers in game service. I hope to work with someone who can think outside the box and try different approaches. I can fill in the gaps.
Q. Any advice for applicants?
Join the company if there's a game service you always thought of and want to give it a try. Our door is always open. I'll be waiting for you.
